One thing we must remember here is that the word psychic relates to
the mind and should be mindful of just how fragile the human mind and
consciousness can actually be. As we are ultimately dealing with the consciousness of
those who have passed on when we investigate a location, we need to
protect the mind and not the body.
Psychic protection involves us generating an image in our mind of an
energy field that wraps around us (the field is only in our mind and does not physically
exist). The purpose of which is to generate a mental barrier to block out all
intrusive or malicious vibrations that come from other sources and helps
keep us firmly grounded on the earthly plain.
The following method of protection is the one practiced by the members
of CaSPIR before any investigation and is as follows:
• Either standing or sitting, close your eyes, relax and concentrate
on your breathing for a few minutes. • Focus your breathing until it becomes a steady pattern. In for
the count of 3, hold for a count of 2 and out for a count of 6. Do this
until your head feels clear, you feel relaxed and your thoughts are
focused. • Imagine roots (like that of a tree) coming out from your feet.
Imagine them extending, growing, rooting deep into the ground, spreading
out strong and stout. • Feel the earth around your roots feel the goodness and the life
giving energy of mother earth. See this energy as an earthly red. Now
in time with your breathing, draw the energy up through your roots each
time you breathe in. • The energy moves up through your roots up into your feet, each
breath in draws the energy higher. • You feel it fill your lower legs....another breath, it fills
your thighs....another to your waist....to your chest.... to your throat....down
your arms....you feel your fingers tingle....up to your eyes....to the
top of your head. • Now the next few breaths brings you to visualize the energy
spilling out through the top of your head and forming a bubble around
your body. The bubble extends above your head and into the ground below
your feet. • You are now grounded firmly in the here and now. • Now visualize a bright white light descending from above. Feel
this light surround you creating a second bubble of protection around
the first. Visualize it closed above your head and below your feet.
This is your protection, held in the gaze of all that is good. • Now slowly return your breathing. Be rest assured that nothing
can or will penetrate the bubbles for as long as you hold this visualization
firmly in your mind.
Closing down
After all investigations it is imperative that we cleanse ourselves
of all energies that may have inadvertently latched on to our bubbles.
• Once again run through our breathing exercise to still the mind
and focus our thoughts. • Then in one quick breath out imagine the old bubbles of protection
being dispersed to the 4 winds as you do so you visualize the white
light descending once again from above, surrounding you in brilliance
and washing away all negative energies that continue in their attempt
to trouble you.
As you slowly bring your breathing back to normal it is favoured by
some to draw your roots back up from the soil. Alternatively they can
always remain firmly planted in the here and now.
