If you look into the history of Leap, there is ample evidence of evil deeds, in fact the place is positively overflowing with stories of them.  These may of  course be just stories this is the Emerald Isle, but before dismissing the evil deeds consider this.

Leap Castle was equipped with an Oubliette, a dungeon accessed by a hole in the floor in a chamber above through which the unfortunate victim was thrown and left to die and rot, the next victims being thrown in on top of their predecessors rotting corpses. When the Oubliette was emptied a few years ago 16 cartloads of bones were removed

If what is written is true, it goes without saying that when enough energy is available there is very little limit to what this entity could do. The sceptic writer leaves this to the reader to form their own opinions.
