CaSPIR - Code of Conduct

As a client of CaSPIR UK you may be worried about what we do during a typical investigation but please be assured that you, your family, work colleagues, residence or home are under no threat from what we do during our visit. A typical investigation may consist of any of the following elements.

Remote Surveillance

CaSPIR UK will set up a 4 camera wireless surveillance system which operates in zero light (night vision) mode. These will be set up in the areas of reported activity. These locations will be discussed by the clients.

Environmental Review

During every investigation, we will measure electromagnetic pollution, temperature, humidity, ultra sound and air quality within the location. All these various conditions are known to cause unease, jumpiness, light anomalies and apparent apparitions.

Silent Vigils

Sometimes the best way to review a location is to simply sit quietly and listen for activity such as knocks and bangs. This allows us to pin point and eliminate a high percentage of natural causes.

Audio Recording

Quite often the human hearing cannot pick up spirit voices; these do however appear on audio recordings (digital and analogue). CaSPIR employ both formats of audio recording and have to date caught most of their compelling evidence in this way.

Photographic Investigation

During our investigation we will continually take still photographs. Light anomalies are a very controversial method of investigating the paranormal but it can be used to good effect if it's done properly.

Trigger Object

This method of investigating is uncontrolled and as such doesn't work very often. The way it works (apparently) is that an object that could be of interest to the spirit (a child's toy, period coins, religious item, etc) is set in the place of reported activity and its position is recorded by video or simply drawing around. The object on very few occasions will have moved on our return.

Divination

If we feel that the location does indeed suffer from paranormal activity we may employ a basic level of divination that will allow us to ascertain who or what you have disrupting your daily life. CaSPIR will not use anything other than divining rods, unless you as the client allow us to perform divination of a more esoteric nature.

Séance

This is the technique of physically opening a channel between this world and any world beyond our existence by sitting in a circle and focusing our energies on any spirit entities or astral beings that wish to communicate with us. This is done with full spiritual protection; our séances are opened correctly, blessed and closed down again accordingly. We will also cleanse the room when we are finished so no energies are left behind.

Table Tipping

Table tipping is a Victorian parlour game which involves holding a séance and inviting any spirit entities or astral beings to communicate with us by tipping the table that we sit around. All the same precautions that we use during (before and after) a séance are observed during this session.

Glass Divination

This method of divination is (similar to table tipping) a Victorian parlour game which again involves holding a séance and inviting any spirit entities or astral beings to communicate with us by moving an upturned glass on the table that we sit around. All the same precautions that we use during (before and after) a séance are observed during this session.

What we will not do under any circumstances

Ghost Baiting

This is a bit like Russian roulette is as much as you don't know how any spirit that may be present will react to your questions. It involves trying to goad spirit entities into doing something. Telling them that their powers are pathetic and asking them if that's the best that they can do.

CaSPIR as a group don't like this because you never know what the reaction is going to be like.

Ouija Board

Although if performed correctly, this method of divination can be quite effective. It must be noted however that the majority of people in the UK think they are evil and can attract energies of a real nasty nature. CaSPIR UK as a matter of practice will not use Ouija (or any other spirit boards) during our investigations.
