Intelligent Haunting's

These types of haunting are what most people think of when they hear the word
ghost; unfortunately these are very rare. In this type of haunting, we encounter a
spirit rather than a ghost; the difference being that spirits can interact with people while ghost are just memories (see residual haunting's). The most common belief is that the spirit is connected to the site or people in some way.

Some reasons the spirit may be tied to the site or people:

• Died as a result of a traumatic event, murder, car accident, etc.
• The spirit believes it still has unfinished business.
• Death may have come suddenly and the spirit may not yet realise that it is dead.
• The spirit may remain emotionally connected to their loved ones.
• Fear of the other side or judgment.

These entities are generally associated with physical activity such as the slamming, opening, closing and unlocking of doors. Voices and sounds may also be heard and can in this way be confused with poltergeists. A strong presence, a scent, or touch may also be experienced.

Manifestations of spirit however are rarely seen in any form.
