Night Vision Extenders

Even with the best Night Vision equipped Video Cameras the range of the internal IR LED's is not that great, usually its only around 3 metres, which is inadequate for paranormal research.

The answer to this problem is is the Sony HVL-IRM battery powered IR Light. You can either use 2 AA batteries, the high power type's are infinitely preferably or you can attach a nickel Iron battery to the back.

This little unit contains 8 high power IR LED's and on high power settings can eat batteries in a little under two hour, but as they say up north you don't get ought for nought. Since we invested in a number of these they have proved to be invaluable.

The dial on the front allows you to adjust the light level from 2 metres out to way more than 6 metres, depending upon the size of the room you are in and is height. Corridors work really well for distance, but the foreground will be bleached due to the intense light unless you turn the levels down, but at least you now have  choice.

The only other downside is that the light is concentrated and you may need to diffuse it a bit using some kind of slip on filter, like the one we use.
