Infrared Lights
Infrared Lights
Even with the best Night Vision equipped Video Cameras the range of the internal IR LED's is not that great, usually its only around 3 metres, which is inadequate for paranormal research. You can add a Sony HVL-IRM battery powered IR Light to a Night Vision Video Camera, which will extend your range from 2 metres out to way more than 6 metres, depending upon the size of the room you are in and is height. This is fine for normal sized rooms, but what if you have a large room to cover. The answer is the humongous 90 LED beast shown below. This is a light that is used to light up transport yards for security cameras and according to the speck easily cover 100 square metres. We have just tried this out in a very large hall in a public building and we could see corner to corner with our DVR cameras clere as day. We are very impressed. We have also bought a smaller 18 LED version for non domed version for use in long corridors, this also performed well, again exceeding our expectations. Both units require a 12 volt power supply 1.6 Amps and 600 Milliamps respectively, which do not come with the light units, bu are available from electrical component shops like Maplin. Check out http://www.securitymax.co.uk/ for this and other security industry related equipment. Also check out http://maplin.co.uk for power units and security equipment.
